A neonate is pampered so much that any small spot in her body becomes a matter of worry to her parents and relatives. Keeping this fact in mind, it can easily be realised how highly they will be worried about cradle cap in the body of their little, cute object of attraction. However, it is simply a skin condition and in most of the cases, does not cause any harm to the baby.

In spite of this, parents worry about cradle cap in the body of their newborn baby and want to do something for it. Though it is not necessary to be overactive about, it is also not recommendable to leave it its own place. Ignoring this neonatal disease may cause harm to the baby. If anything else does not happen, the affected area may become hard and take an unhealthy look that no parents would like to happen.

In addition to this, cradle cap can spread over to the other parts of the body. Generally it appears on the head or the surroundings of the ears. There is no strong likelihood that it may get infectious and contaminate others; yet, there remains the chance of it being spread over some other parts of the body. So, to prevent it from affecting the other areas of the body, it is necessary to take some precautions.

Cradle cap gets cured in course of time. Generally, the ailment vanishes within a few months. Sometimes, it may take as long as two years. Yet, a little care or some precautions is necessary to keep it under control. Dermatologists are not unanimous about the remedy of the skin condition. If some suggest the usage of mild shampoo others opine that applying home made paste of natural herbs can be of help. In any case, it is better to be cautious and take steps as and when necessary.
